The probe has been ordered on the complaint of an attendant who said that only two out of 10 counters run by the hospital revolving fund (HRF) at the institute are operational while others remain closed. Therefore, people have to go outside to buy medicines and face problems.
The deputy CM directed the institute’s director, Professor Sonia Nityanand, to look into the matter and ensure that all counters remain functional. He also asked her to take action after conducting a probe within a week.
When asked why only two counters are operational, in charge of HRF at RMLIMS, Dr AK Singh said, “Altogether there are 10 counters at the institute – three each in old building and superspeciality block and four in OPD block. Of these, eight are operational. Two counters in the OPD block are closed due to shortage of manpower. However, we are trying to open one more counter in OPD for patients’ convenience.”
