About 11,000 students take NEET in Ahmedabad

Ahmedabad: About 11,000 students from the city on Sunday took the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test Undergraduate (NEET-UG) 2023, an all India pre-medical entrance test for students who wish to pursue undergraduate medical (MBBS), dental (BDS) and Ayush courses in government and private institutions.

Students who appeared in the examination said that while the NEET was relatively easy, it was lengthy. The National Testing Agency (NTA) was assigned the task of checking the students before they appeared for the examination.

Ved Pandit, one of the candidates, said that the chemistry section was too theoretical and hence it took longer to answer questions. “Biology was easy, while the physics section was very objective. Overall, it was a moderate exam. Not hard, but lengthy,” Pandit said, adding that he attempted all the 180 questions that a candidate is required to answer. Vishnu Rabari, another candidate, said the question paper was easy.

“The biology section was the easiest of all, while the chemistry section was not as easy. The physics section too was not as easy as the biology section,” said Rabari. He added that the examination paper was rather lengthy and he could attempt only 151 questions in the stipulated time period.

Although the examination was held 2pm onwards, the students were allowed entry to the examination centres in batches from 11am. Several students had begun queueing up outside the examination centres in different parts of the city since morning, even as the NTA began admitting students in batches.
