Tamil Nadu will get exemption from NEET: Health minister Ma Subramanian
Answering a question on the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in Madurai, the minister said the Union government had made an announcement in this regard in 2015 and the Cabinet had given its nod in 2018.
Answering a question on the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in Madurai, the minister said the Union government had made an announcement in this regard in 2015 and the Cabinet had given its nod in 2018. "While Prime Minister Narendra Modi laid the foundation stone in 2019, there is a delay on the part of Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) in issuing the fund."
Subramanian said they had submitted a detailed project report to JICA.
"After the allocation of funds, a tender will be floated to fix the contractor by the end of 2024. The civil work will commence after that and the same will be completed by 2028."
Earlier in the day, the minister campaigned for Congress candidate for bypoll E V K S Elangovan in the city.
