I will pressure Centre to implement Right to Social Security in nation: Ashok Gehlot
Gehlot was addressing the ‘Ambedkar Award’state-level felicitation ceremony organised on the occasion of Ambedkar Jayanti at BM Birla Auditorium on Friday. In Rajasthan, the minimum social security pension has been increased to Rs 1,000 in the last budget. It was also announced to increase it by 15 per cent every year. A workshop on budget announcements was also organised on Friday, based on the theme - Janta Ka Paisa, Janta Ko.
“Over a period, the Centre will have to implement all the schemes of Rajasthan, be it the old pension scheme (OPS), Right to Health or Right to Social Security. I would like to share with you that I have requested Prime Ministerji (Narendra Modi) to implement Right to Social Security in the country. The central government should pass a law to ensure Right to social security for every family in the country. The citizens of the country should get benefits of the social security schemes. I am not going to give up easily. I will keep putting pressure on the central government in every possible way to pass the Right to Social Security Act ,” said Gehlot.
“The members of the opposition ask me about the availabilty of money to implement so many schemes. I reply to them, ‘the money will come via ‘magic’. It is coming, must be coming from somewhere. (There is so much that) my MLAs will get tired asking for money and I’ll get tired giving them,” he added.
