Govt reviews readiness on HMPV

Key sources informed that the CM expressed his displeasure over the controversy surrounding "undue police action" against a Patidar community girl in Amreli over a minor allegation. Sources said the CM cautioned that any actions that disturb any communities or public at large would not be tolerated. Harsh Sanghavi, minister of state, home, informed the Cabinet that police has not taken any unwarranted action but some political persons are attempting to mislead the community.
The meeting also discussed opposition from certain sections to govt's decision to split Banaskantha district to carve out a new district, Vav-Tharad. Balwantsinh Rajput, industry minister and in charge of Banaskantha, briefed the meeting about representations received.
