According to the conditions of the MoU, hospitals established on land given by the government or on subsidized rates (as per their land allotment contract terms) or hospitals run by trusts (those funded by the government in form of land and building) will be covered under the proposed RTH Act.
Now, following the signing of the MoU between the state government and the agitating doctors of private hospitals, the health department has started taking measures on collecting data of private hospitals who have taken land free or on token money or on concessional rates from the state government.
According to the conditions of the MoU, hospitals established on land given by the government or on subsidized rates (as per their land allotment contract terms) or hospitals run by trusts (those funded by the government in form of land and building) will be covered under the proposed RTH Act.
“The allotment of land to hospitals is done by Jaipur Development Authority and local bodies in other cities. We have no such data available with us of such hospitals who have taken land on concessional rates from the government. Since the MoU has been signed, we will collect the required data along with the agreement signed while allotment of land,” said Dr Ravi Prakash Mathur, director (public health), health department.
The health department will also write to urban development and housing department to provide details of all such private hospitals.
Indian Medical Association (Jaipur branch) president Dr Tarun Ojha said, “We request the government to maintain transparency while keeping in mind the interest of doctors.”
Indian Medical Association (Jaipur branch) secretary Dr Anurag Sharma said, “The government should also implement other points in the MoU, including that police cases registered shall be withdrawn.”
