    According to officials close to the development, the initiative aims at boosting entrepreneurial spirit among the state’s medical students through a two-pronged approach. Students will be provided monetary incentives along with mentorship and guidance on startups that cater to societal and medical field needs. The initiative will also extend help to healthtech entrepreneurs on collaborations with hospitals and medical colleges for testing and certification.

    The technical advisory support would cover various areas of the healthcare ecosystem, including the work on addressing the skill gap in specialised branches of medical care. Moreover, the initiative would involve establishing a Centre of Excellence for renal sciences at the Tomo Riba Institute of Health and Medical Sciences (TRIHMS), the first medical college in the state.

    2500 workers would first undergo a stringent session wherein their knowledge in basic nutrition and other health aspects would be analysed following which 250 workers will be shortlisted for the second round of intense training and create master trainers.
