Dengue spread: Monitoring cell to be constituted
All district medical officers have been asked to ensure that adequate stock of drugs and testing kits are equipped in all the hospitals under their region. For eradicating the spread of mosquitoes, source-level reduction activities should be strengthened.
The minister while convening a high-level meeting in the wake of an increase in dengue cases in the state, urged all the health administration officials to ensure that timely treatment is provided to all the people who are affected and ensure that no deaths are occurred.
All district medical officers have been asked to ensure that adequate stock of drugs and testing kits are equipped in all the hospitals under their region. For eradicating the spread of mosquitoes, source-level reduction activities should be strengthened. For this the local bodies should ensure maximum support to the health administration, the minister said.
All hospitals have been asked to begin fever clinics and also if necessary to create special wards for fever cases. The medical college hospitals have been directed to ensure ICU beds in case of emergencies. As per the district-wise daily reporting of the fever cases in the state on Tuesday, 12,876 fever cases were reported in the OP wings of the different hospitals. As many as 170 people got admitted due to fever today. Among the 298 suspected cases of dengue, 133 were confirmed. The highest number of cases reported on Tuesday were from Ernakulam 64 cases followed by 28 cases from Palakkad. Seven leptospirosis cases were also reported on Tuesday.
