Puducherry: SBV, Medizones sign MoU to launch med device

Puducherry: Sri Balaji Vidyapeeth (SBV), a deemed university and Medizones, manufacturers of hospital accessories, have signed a memorandum of understanding in the presence of SBV vice-chancellor S C Parija on Wednesday to launch a special medical device for the treatment of dry eyes syndrome. Kasturba Gandhi nursing college (KGNC), a constituent college of SBV, will use the device, ‘Duo sense optic care wear’ for treating patients with dry eyes syndrome.

Parija congratulated the inventors of the device, KGNC assistant professor V Manopriya and principal K Renuka. The device is unique in its nature as both the hot and the cold application can be given by the same device to make the eyes comfortable. SBV registrar A R Srinivasan, dean (research) C Adithan, dean (faculty) N Ananthakrishnan, dean (Mahatma Gandhi medical college and research institute, MGMC&RI) M Ravishankar, medical superintendent (MGMC&RI) V Nirmal Coumare were also present when the institute and healthcare firm signed the MoU.
