India reports 2,109 new COVID cases, active cases stand at 21,406

New Delhi: India reported 2,109 new COVID cases in the last 24 hours, while the active cases in the country stand at 21,406 which is 0.05 per cent, as per the bulletin shared by the Union Health Ministry.

The death toll has increased to 5,31,722 with additional 14 deaths in the last 24 hours. The mortalities observed were: one death each in Chhattisgarh, Haryana, Kerala, Maharashtra, Rajasthan, and Tamil Nadu, whereas Delhi registered two deaths. A total of six reconciled deaths were reported as per the Ministry of Health portal.

A total of 92.80 crore COVID-19 tests have been conducted so far in the country, and 1,59,454 tests have been conducted in the last 24 hours, as per the health bulletin. The daily positivity rate is 1.32 per cent and the weekly positivity rate is 1.80 per cent.

The bulletin added that India had administered 220.66 crore COVID-19 vaccines (95.21 crore second doses and 22.87 crore precautionary doses) administered under the nationwide vaccination drive. 2,055 doses were administered in the last 24 hours.

A total of 3,430 recoveries were reported in the last 24 hours increasing the total recoveries to 4,44,21,781. The national recovery rate currently stands at 98.77 per cent.
