80% of Karnataka’s Covid cases are from outside Bengaluru

Bengaluru: The Covid-19 test positivity rate continued to decline in Karnataka, touching 6.6% on Thursday. The state reported 11,042 new positive cases and 194 deaths.

With Bengaluru reporting 2,191 cases, the remaining districts accounted for 80% of cases. Bengaluru reported 47 deaths too.

In terms of new cases and deaths, Mysuru reported 1,011 and 18; Belagavi 439 and 12; and Hassan 776 & 10 deaths.

The state has so far reported 27,39,290 positive cases and 32,485 deaths. With 15,721 new recovery cases, 24,96,132 have recovered so far.

On the 146th day of the vaccination drive, 1,81,832 people were jabbed and most recipients (1,10,260) were between 18 to 44 years. As on Thursday, 1,61,64,515 persons have been vaccinated.
