22,970 students qualify for UG medical courses

The Admission Committee for Professional Under-Graduate Medical Courses on Thursday uploaded list of rank for students who appeared for National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) 2017. According to officials, around 60,425 students from Gujarat appeared for NEET-2017, of which around 22,970 students have qualified for admissions in under-graduate medical, dental, ayurveda, homeopathy courses - merit of which will be readied based on NEET score.

According to officials in the committee, around 11,658 students in open category qualified for admission to medical and other courses. There are 1,445 students from Scheduled Tribes, 1,869 students from Schedule Castes and 7,998 students from OBC category who have qualified too. According to officials, there are 3,630 seats in medical colleges in Gujarat and over 6,000 seats in medical allied seats.
