Notice to RML doctor for practice at private nursing home
A surgeon of Dr Ram Manohar Lohia Institute of Medical Sciences (RMLIMS) has been found indulging in private practice at an unlicensed nursing home in Mohanlalganj by a team from the office of chief medical officer.
The matter has been reported to authorities concerned, including director of RMLIMS .
Chief medical officer Dr GK Bajpai informed the authorities that a routine inspection of nursing homes was done by a three-member team on August 23. When the team reached Parag Nursing home in Mohanlalganj, it found that it was functioning without licence and none of the staff members were qualified. "Besides, a number of other anomalies were also found. The team found nine patients undergoing treatment at the nursing home," said Dr Bajpai.
The team found that Dr Sudhir had done a patient's surgery at the nursing home. "The staff of the nursing home told the team that Dr Sudhir is a surgeon at RML hospital. We verified the claim by making a call on the contact number of Dr Sudhir. Since private practice by government doctors is unlawful, a showcause notice should be issued to Dr Sudhir," CMO stated in his letter to the authorities.
