Meenakshi hosp becomes centre for quality promotion
Meenakshi Mission Hospital and Research Centre has been appointed as the Centre for Quality Promotion (CQP) by the Consortium of Accredited Healthcare Organizations (CAHO).
CAHO is India’s premier body working to improve healthcare quality in the country in coordination with National Accreditation Board for Hospitals and Healthcare Providers (NABH) and National Accreditation Body for Testing and Calibration Laboratories (NABL). The hospital has become the first hospital in the region to get this honour.
President, CAHO, Dr Vijay Agarwal, said as a CQP, this hospital will help sensitize and create awareness of quality and accreditation to NABH, train the representatives of interested hospitals on implementation of NABH standards.
It will help the hospital to drive quality healthcare in the region, said general manager of the hospital, J Adel. “Preventable medical errors and hospital acquired infections can be drastically reduced in hospitals by following quality benchmarks,” Adel added
On the occasion, CAHO conducted Fire Safety and Emergency Preparedness Training at Meenakshi Mission Hospital focusing on emergency evacuation, fire prevention and preparedness.
