Tamil Nadu govt appoints Dr R Shanthi Malar as director of medical education

Malar, who was the dean of Kilpauk Medical College and Hospital, was also serving as officer on special duty in the cadre of the director of medical education. She was given the additional charge on October 31, 2022 after Dr R Narayanababu retired as the DME.

Chennai: The Tamil Nadu health department has appointed Dr R Shanthi Malar as the director of medical education.

Malar, who was the dean of Kilpauk Medical College and Hospital, was also serving as officer on special duty in the cadre of the director of medical education. She was given the additional charge on October 31, 2022 after Dr R Narayanababu retired as the DME.

Now, an order dated March 13 and signed by health secretary P Senthilkumar appointed her as the director in the existing vacancy.
