PG medical counselling still to start in Maharashtra

Mumbai: The counselling process for post-graduate medical admissions for MD and MS is still to commence in the state, leaving many aspirants in a dilemma.

While results for the all-India round one are already out, the state's CET cell is still to release the brochure, the counselling schedule as well as the seat matrix.

While the CET cell is waiting for the medical education and drugs department to release the brochure, a department official said it will be released soon, and students will get enough time to choose their preference in the state, before the all-India second round. He added the brochure is ready and will be made available soon and the registration process will start.

Students and parents, though, are worried about not being able to take an informed decision to seek Diplomate of National Board (DNB) or deemed seats in the all-India process, without knowing their status in state counselling. Parent representative Sudha Shenoy said all other states are already done with their registration process.
