Paramedical intake: Third round to begin today

Ahmedabad: The Admission Committee for Gujarat Professional Nursing and Allied Medical Educational Courses (GPNAMEC) on Wednesday announced that the third round of admissions to General Nursing and Midwifery (GNM), Auxiliary Nurse and Midwife (ANM), optometry and ophthalmology courses will begin on January 26. This round will be only for admissions to government-run institutes. The third round will end on January 31.

A statement from the committee said that for the second round of admissions the reporting duration has been shortened by two days. The last date for reporting will be January 28, the statement said.

After the approval of new colleges, the admission committee started the second round for paramedical courses starting from January 18. According to the admission committee data there are about 29,000 seats, including 13,535 newly added seats and 16,000 seats that had remained vacant at the end of the first round of admissions. The newly added seats include 4,875 for nursing, 5,230 for GNM and 3,430 seats for ANM. tnn
