Now, dress code for all PMCH & NMCH doctors
In a letter sent to all the heads of the department, PMCH superintendent Dr I S Thakur directed them to strictly implement the dress code of wearing apron for doctors of all ranks, including interns, postgraduate students, senior residents, assistant professors, associate professors and professors while discharging duties at OPD, wards and other places.

“The dress code is being enforced with immediate effect under the directives issued by the health department. Besides, other paramedical staff of the hospital would also have to follow the dress code,” Thakur said, and added that dress code not only give doctors a distinct identity but also help in maintaining discipline inside the campus.
Besides, work of repairing the defunct medical equipment is also in progress under the mission.
Of the total 11 ultrasound machines lying defunct, three have been made functional while others are under repair. PMCH is currently undergoing mega development project aimed at increasing the number of beds and bringing in new technologies for the treatment of various diseases.
NMCH, another government institution, has also enforced dress code as mandatory for doctors, confirmed its superintendent Dr Rajiv Ranjan. “The entire campus was being cleaned and things were being improved for providing better services to the patients,” he said.
Teams of health department are presently on inspecting the status of medical colleges with a view to work on the state government’s move to improve them on all fronts, including infrastructure, treatment facilities and patient’s care.
