‘Must embrace physiotherapy in medicine, edu’

Lucknow: Deputy chief minister Brajesh Pathak emphasised essential role of physiotherapy in treatment, often preventing need for major surgeries and advocated for its integration into both medical and educational institutions at the 5th National Physiotherapy Conference, UPCON 2024, at the Atal Bihari Vajpayee Scientific Convention Centre on Sunday.

Pathak congratulated president of the Indian Association of Physiotherapists Dr Sanjeev K Jha, Dr Sudip Saxena and Dr Namrata Suri for choosing the important theme ‘Chalo Physio Ki Raah Par Chalein'. Vice chairperson of the Uttar Pradesh State Women's Commission, Aparna Yadav, stressed importance of incorporating physiotherapy into daily life.

Dr Sanjay Shukla highlighted how physiotherapy could help avoid knee replacement surgeries, while Dr Sudip Saxena introduced new techniques.
