Indian healthcare professionals seeking career opportunities abroad rising
Younger healthcare professionals between the age of 25 and 35 years (33.35 per cent), who are fairly green as well as seasoned practitioners with over 10 years of experience (27 per cent) are most keen to make the move. And interestingly, a higher percentage of women (69.88 per cent) compared to men (30.12 per cent) are enthusiastic about relocation.
A recent study published on Springer’s BMC revealed that there are a total of 5.74 million medical professionals in India and the desired doctor-to-patient ratio is aligned with the World Health Organisation’s (WHO) standards.
Interests in career opportunities abroad are on the rise. Data from TrueProfile.io indicate that there is a healthy number of members from India. Among them, those in the nursing profession (46.24 per cent) and doctors (22.92 per cent) are shown to be most keen on pursuing jobs abroad.
