All Raj medical colleges will become operational by 2024: Health minister

Jaipur: Health minister Parsadi Lal Meena on Monday said medical colleges in all 33 districts will become operational by 2024 and medical aspirants will not have to go out of the state to study. He said the network of new medical colleges will boost healthcare facilities in the state.

“By 2024, studies will start in all medical colleges and there will be no shortage of doctors in the state,” said Meena after inaugurating the science of life exhibition at SMS Hospital.

Meena said he had gone to Sirohi a few days ago and asked medical students where they had come from. “I came to know that all the students were from Rajasthan except one from Haryana. Now our children need not to go outside to study medicine. We have developed the health system in such a way that people can get treatment for all kinds of diseases,” said Meena.

The exhibition is being organised for showcasing all SMS Hospital Departments and also educating people and students about diseases and their management. Exhibition’s organizing secretary Dr Ashok Gupta said all 44 departments have installed stalls.
