Madhya Pradesh: Less than 3,000 new Covid cases again, but positivity still at 3.2%

BHOPAL: New Covid-19 cases in Madhya Pradesh continued to decline and for the third consecutive day on Saturday less than 3,000 new cases were reported. According to health epartent bulletin 2,438 people tested positive during the day.

Besides, 6,220 people recovered from corona infection during the day, taking the count of recoveries so far from Covid-19 to 9,90,720

A total of 7 deaths were reported on Saturday as one death each was reported from Bhopal, Indore, Jabalpur, Katni, Khargone, Umaria and Vidisha districts.

On February 12, there were 22,390 active cases in the state, as per the state health bulletin released by the directorate of health services.

New infections were reported from all the 52 districts of the state and in 46 districts cases were reported in double figures. Top five districts where maximum cases were reported include Bhopal (512 new cases), followed by Indore (220 new cases), Narsinghpur (95 new cases), Shivpuri (86 new cases) and Sagar (83 new cases).

Positivity rate — the number of people testing positive out of every 100 samples tested — of 3.2% was reported in the state. A total of 73,901 samples were tested on Saturday.
