India will start vaccinating nearly 26 crore people above 50 years against Covid-19 in another 2-3 weeks, Union health minister Harsh Vardhan said while underlining that the beginning of the end of the pandemic in the country has begun.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched on Saturday one of the world's largest vaccination campaigns, as part of efforts by the populous nation to bring the Covid-19 pandemic under control starting with two locally-manufactured shots.
The vaccine for Covid-19 is likely to begin arriving in Delhi in the next few days. It will be stored in the facility at Rajiv Gandhi Super Speciality Hospital in Dilshad Garden, which has been readied and handed over to the health and family welfare department.
Civic officials said these 98 schools had 42,263 students but only 30,777 received the vaccine. "This means only 72.8% of the expected group got the vaccine,'' said a senior BMC official.
