Karnataka: 21 cases of Japanese encephalitis till Oct; vaccination for kids aged 1-15
The vaccine will be administered to schoolchildren first, and then in health institutes and anganwadi centres and among communities. Furthermore, as part of the Universal Immunisation Programme, certain districts have been identified as endemic to JE. Children born here are given the first JE vaccine dose when they are nine months old and the second dose at 1.5 years of age.
