The meeting to be held by the department of pharmaceuticals (DoP) will discuss bringing surgical gloves and single-use medical examination gloves under the quality control order (QCO) to ensure better standards for these products whether imported or manufactured in the country, sources said.

Additional Solicitor General Aishwarya Bhati, appearing for the Centre, told the bench the central government has so far received inputs from only four states -- Haryana, Delhi, West Bengal and Uttar Pradesh.
It had appointed the secretary of the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MOHFW) as the nodal officer to coordinate with all the states and UTs and collect relevant data for formulating a national policy. The apex court had noted the MoHFW, Ministry of Education and Ministry of Jal Shakti already run schemes to address issued related to the menstrual hygiene.
The Minister added that the side event will explore the transformative potential of digital health and innovations that can help achieve Universal Health Coverage, stated a release from the government. The event on Citizen-centric Health Delivery Ecosystems for Universal Health Coverage Leveraging Digital Health and Innovations commenced on Tuesday.
