The state government will focus on Aadhaar registrations of newborns in a special campaign to inject some momentum into the flagging enrolment in the state.

Aadhaar to soon die with holder’s death
The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) and the Registrar General of India have begun work on rolling out a mechanism that will allow for deactivation of Aadhaar once a death certificate is issued. Once a death certificate is issued by the agency concerned, a communication will be shared with the family members of the deceased and only after their consent the number will be deactivated, official sources said.
