This jab will aid fight against cervical cancer

The HPV vaccine is a vaccine devised to prevent cervical cancer, which is caused by the human papillomavirus (HPV). It is a significant success story in medical research, preventing this particular cancer in 80-90 per cent of cases with two or three lifetime vaccination doses. “Developing countries like India have higher death rates from cervical cancer. Most HPV vaccines cover the two important strains of HPV, 16 and 18, and there are three types of vaccination available.
