Dr Badrinath, founder of Chennai's Sankara Nethralaya, no more

Dr Sengamedu Srinivasa Badrinath, the founder of Sankara Nethralaya, a renowned eye care hospital in India, has passed away at the age of 83. He dedicated his life to making eye care accessible and affordable in the country. Dr Badrinath started his career in the US before returning to India in 1970 to establish his own practice. He later founded the Medical Research Foundation, which includes Sankara Nethralaya. Throughout his career, he provided quality eye care, trained medical professionals, and conducted research to combat blindness in India. Dr Badrinath received numerous awards for his contributions in the field.
