"As part of the association, Om Logistics will provide SpiceJet with the refrigerated trucks to cover the first mile and the last mile across length and breadth of the country. SpiceJet will provide the necessary air support to carry Covid–19 vaccines pan India and internationally in a temperature-controlled environment," said a statement.
SpiceXpress, the dedicated cargo arm of SpiceJet, has tied up with cold-chain solution providers to transport drugs and vaccines which need to be ferried under controlled temperatures, including anti-Covid vaccines.
Union home minister Amit Shah Monday inaugurated the first mobile testing lab of SpiceHealth, a health care company founded by the promoters of SpiceJet and led by airline CMD Ajay Singh’s daughter Avani Singh.
Passengers can submit their samples at a "location of choice", including at home, using the "At your Doorstep" service, the airline said, adding that the appointment booking service for testing is being offered by VFS Global.
