Health minister inspects KFD-hit areas, announces new vaccine is being developed

Speaking to reporters, Rao confirmed that a new vaccine is under development and should be ready by 2026. He explained that the existing KFD vaccine has lost its effectiveness. The Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) is committed to delivering a new vaccine, currently being developed at a Hyderabad research facility with Rs 10 crore funding from CSR initiatives.
