Delta variant pushes herd immunity threshold to 90%, says new study
The new study echoes the findings of earlier studies, such as the one conducted in the US, findings of which were released in August by the Infectious Diseases Society of America, which suggested that the herd immunity “threshold estimates” for the Delta variant could “go well over 80% and may be approaching 90%” — which were much higher than the previously thought herd immunity threshold levels of 60% to 70%.
