Sonowal said under the visionary leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, India has made significant progress in reinventing the age-old and proven benefits of the tradit ional system of medicine to enrich the quality of lives of the people.
The summit’s theme ‘Towards Health and Well-being for All’, will explore the role of traditional complementary and integrative medicine in addressing pressing health challenges and driving progress in global health and sustainable development.
Stressing the importance of traditional medicine in the south and southeast Asian nations, Sonowal said that ASEAN countries and India share historic and cultural ties, and traditional medicine has been prevalent in these nations.
The hospital will provide quality healthcare services to port employees, CISF, retired personnel and their dependents as well as non-NMPA patients residing in the surrounding areas of the port.
The prime minister has written to all village heads, appealing to them to observe International Day of Yoga at their nearest Anganwadi, health and wellness centres, and schools. In addition to that, around two lakh common service centres, Ayush Health and Wellness Centres will participate in the celebration.
Dr Mandaviya, along with Sarbananda Sonowal, Union AYUSH Minister, launched two information and communication technology initiatives at the event, AHMIS (Ayush Health Management Information System) and eLMS (Education Learning Management System).
The conclave will pave the way for better coordination among stakeholders and strengthen the functioning of Ayush Health and Wellness Centres (AHWCs). Subject experts from participating states will deliberate on various aspects of the NAM, focus on enhanced efficiency in budget absorption under NAM and institutionalisation for improvised execution of the scheme.
As part of the MoU, both the ministries will collaborate in developing skilled personnel for Ayush healthcare and management sectors. The training imparted will be benchmarked to global standards to enable growth of skilled human resources in such sectors to serve both national and international demands, Union Ayush Minister Sarbananda Sonowal said.
