PGI study finds factors impacting quality of life of breast cancer patients

The study found that patients who underwent breast-conserving surgery (BCS) reported better overall quality of life scores compared to those who underwent a mastectomy—breast removal surgery. BCS patients showed improved functioning, greater confidence about the future, and a more positive outlook.
