Researchers from several US universities and the National Institutes of Health (NIH) had found that flu viruses prefer the weather either cold and dry or humid and rainy, based on an analysis of climate variables and flu patterns around the world. Studies have shown that high humidity can also increase the survival of influenza virus in the air, making it easier to spread.
