At high-level UNGA session, world leaders thank India for COVID-19 vaccine shipments

India will resume the export of surplus vaccines in the fourth quarter of 2021 under ‘Vaccine Maitri' and meet its commitment to COVAX. COVAX is a worldwide initiative aimed at equitable access to COVID-19 vaccines directed by Gavi, the Vaccine Alliance, the Coalition for Epidemic Preparedness Innovations, and the World Health Organization.
