Scientists at the University of California San Diego have discovered a property of T cells that could inspire new anti-tumor therapeutics. Through a previously undescribed form of cell auto-signaling, T-cells were shown to activate themselves in peripheral tissues, fueling their ability to attack tumors.
“The intrinsic factors including weakening of immunity due to COVID-19 infections and extrinsic factors include air pollution and allergens present in the air triggering asthma and other respiratory allergies, such as allergic rhinitis and CRS. In a lot of cases, CRS and asthma coexists, which makes life of patients even more problematic,” said Dr Ajit Singh, respiratory disease expert and superintendent RUHS hospital.

The immune system has two modes. The innate immune system is the first line of defence, comprising physical barriers such as skin and mucosal surfaces that block viruses from entering. The innate immune system does not distinguish between one type of virus or another.
