California wants to pay doctors more money to see Medicaid patients
One of the first things Hunter Morgan did after purchasing an optometry office in Southern California three years ago was to begin seeing patients who were covered by Medicaid, the government-funded health insurance programme for those with low incomes. A third of California's 39 million citizens are covered by Medicaid, which was not recognised by the previous owners. However, Morgan believed it was his duty to help those in need.
