Experts attending the MoU signing programme said the popularity and the cost-effectiveness of homoeopathy make it a sustainable system for integration into the modern healthcare system. Integrating homoeopathy in healthcare will help to achieve universal health coverage (UHC) as advocated by the World Health Organisation (WHO).
The scientific convention included sessions on policy aspects in the development of Homoeopathy, Strategic Framework for Advancement of Homoeopathy, Research Evidence in Homoeopathy and Expertise and Experience in Homoeopathic Practice.

Not only the masses, but Homoeopathy has also influenced luminaries like Mahatma Gandhi, Abdul Kalam Azad, Dr S Radhakrishnan, Rabindranath Tagore, Swami Vivekanand etc. Homoeopathic treatment is not only affordable but is also being proven to be effective for the treatment of common ailments of all age groups, epidemic illnesses, management of more severe illnesses along with conventional treatment, as a preventive for infections, and as a palliative in end-stage diseases to improve quality of life. Homoeopathy can also be a potential solution to problems like antibiotic resistance.
In the treatment of complex diseases, where surgery is the only option, homoeopathic medicine has benefited the patients. Homoeopathy is the most effective system of medicine in today’s time in the treatment of recurring stones, piles, fissures, fistula, varicose vein and sinus problems and in the treatment of slip discs and allergies, said Dr AK Dwivedi.
There is an imminent need to initiate a dialogue among the major stakeholders of Homoeopathy which will address much needed practice standards in clinical research informatics, data standards in clinical research, policy issues, educational standards, and instructional resources.
