Initiatives to strengthen global health security in a future global health crisis will only succeed if such measures bolster the role of the World Health Organization
Understanding and overcoming the many social and economic determinants of health is becoming critical in our efforts to achieve universal health coverage, said Poonam Khetrapal Singh, Regional Director, WHO South-East Asia, on the eve of the World Health Day.
He will also call on G7 partners to prioritise a sustainable health security financing mechanism aimed at catalysing countries to build the needed capacity to end the pandemic and prevent the next one, the White House said.
