In a statement on Friday, Fortis Healthcare announced the signing of definitive agreements by its certain subsidiaries for sale of the business operations along with land and building assets pertaining to Fortis Malar Hospitals to MGM Healthcare for a sale consideration of Rs 128 crore.

Hospital chain Fortis Healthcare is looking to buy hospitals in Mumbai suburbs as part of its expansion plan. "We are actively looking to expand our footprint (in Mumbai and its suburbs)," said S Narayani, business head, Fortis Hospitals, Maharashtra.
