DCGI rejects reports of labeling drugs as spurious, calls it a misinterpretation
Dr Rajeev Raghuvanshi, Drugs Controller General of India (DGCI), CDSCO, refuted claims of the government labeling 50 drugs, including common ones like paracetamol, as spurious or unsafe. He clarified that recent reports misinterpreted notifications, explaining that while some medicines were flagged as not of standard quality (NSQ), only five were spurious. He emphasised the routine nature of such testing and assured that appropriate measures are in place to deal with fake medicines.
