‘China growth may halve if virus woes go beyond June’

The novel coronavirus outbreak, which has engulfed 20 of the most industrialised provinces of country — will have an impact on the Chinese economy — of around $15 trillion size currently. The economy may face a slowdown by 3 percentage points to around 3% from 6.1% in 2019. That means the Chinese economy may lose around $450 billion due to the spread of the virus.
