Once hailed as heroes, COVID warriors face police action in fight for employment in Chandigarh

COVID warriors under the banner of COVID Employees Association are staging a dharna in Sector 5, Panchkula, since April 1. On Friday, they unsuccessfully tried to enter Chandigarh to gherao the CM’s residence and were stopped from doing so by the use of police force. They were also detained in various police stations of Panchkula. Association office-bearers said they would wait till Monday and if the government did not respond, they would intensify the stir.
