The Employees State Insurance Corporation (ESIC) will start six-bedded hospitals at Qutubhullapur and Chikkadpally dispensaries here with their own buildings, Union Minister Bandaru Dattatreya said.
According to his reply, there are 447 specialists working in ESI hospitals as against the sanctioned 829. Thus, leaving 382 posts of specialist vacant.
Union Minister of state for Labour Bandaru Dattatreya said Employees State Insurance Corporation (ESIC) will construct a 300-bedded super- speciality hospital here and a 100-bedded hospital in Guntur.
A Parliamentary panel said the reasons given by the government for transferring the Rashtriya Swasthya Bima Yojna from the Labour Ministry to the Health Ministry are not "tenable".

Dattatreya, who reviewed the functioning of ESI Scheme yesterday, also directed officials that the targets must be met with increasing efficiency, especially at the lower level.
