The development would bring about collaboration between traditional and modern medicine. It has been two months since union ministry of Ayush and ICMR had inked an MoU to promote and collaborate on integrative health research. The cooperation in integrated medicine is a step forward in providing scientific evidence to Ayush system of medicines.
Newly elected AIIMS Bhopal president Dr Sunil Malik, director Dr Ajai Singh and senior institute officials were present, according to a press release. Dr Singh informed the minister about the registration process of patients in the OPD.
Dr Sunil Malik has been working as a senior consultant in neurology at Bhopal for two decades. He brings with him a wealth of experience concerning healthcare issues of the entire region and a deep understanding of the aspirations and expectations of patients of the state and of adjoining states.
With the installation it will be easier to manage complicated and life-threatening fungal infections particularly in diabetic, immunosuppressed patients as organ transplant and HIV patients. Till now the samples were sent to PGIMER Chandigarh.
The AIIMS has been conducting research and study apart from treatment of various diseases, while MPPCB collects data on air, water and environmental pollution from almost every city of the state. As per the MoU, the board and AIIMS will now conduct joint research to find out what are the ill effects of different types of pollutants on the humans and different types of diseases the pollution leads to.
The initiative calls for global strategies to diagnose and treat AKI in patients with potentially reversible diseases, especially from disadvantaged populations with poor access to care.
