Punjab sees max heat-related deaths from 2020 to 2022

Responding to a question by Rajya Sabha members Rajni Ashokrao Patil and Ranjeet Ranjan, minister of state for science and technology and earth sciences Jitendra Singh answered on Thursday that across the country, 1,274 persons died due to heatwaves in 2019 in 28 states and 8 UTs, 530 people died in 2020, 374 people in 2021 and 730 died in 2022 in 36 states and UTs.
