West Bengal govt plans to set up ayush units to provide affordable medical services
As per plans chalked up by the health department, there will be 70 homeopathic, 40 ayurvedic and 10 Unani dispensaries across the state. The state health department has asked all district health authorities to furnish locations where the Ayush dispensaries could be set up.

North 24 Parganas, where 17 such units have been planned to be set up, have the highest number of units with nine homeopathic, seven ayurvedic and one unani dispensary listed. Out of 15 units planned to be set up in different areas of Kolkata, 10 of them will be homeopathic and five ayurvedic dispensaries.
Government officials said that the purpose of setting up Ayush units across all districts was to improve low cost and affordable medical service providing infrastructure for more people, specially for peri-urban and rural areas.
The chief medical officer of health (CMOH) in all the districts have been asked to identify existing ayush dispensaries and sub health centers which could be upgraded for the purpose of setting up the Ayush dispensaries.
