UP: Cabinet nod to incentives to units in medical device park
The Cabinet on Tuesday approved a proposal to adopt a central government scheme on medical device parks under the state’s Pharmaceutical Policy-2018.
Units set up under this scheme will get an interest subsidy, incentives on air cargo, handing charge and freight, reimbursement of SGST and EPF, incentives for zero waste, reimbursement of patent filing charges, and skill development incentives.
A government spokesperson said a medical device park was proposed in a 350 acre area under the Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) in Sector 28. This will be UP’s first medical device park and the current policy will promote setting up of industries in this area.
It also approved the implementation of the Pt Deen Dayal Upadhyay Kisan Samriddhi Scheme from 2022-23 to 2026-27 for improvement of uncultivated, barren or waterlogging-prone land. The scheme will be implemented across the state, with the exception of Gautam Budh Nagar. “The CM has been authorised to take any further decision in the matter. The project is being taken up to prepare land for agricultural use,” said a government spokesperson.
