Routine vaccination for infants, pregnant women from Mar 7

Noida: Routine immunisation, which has been lagging due to the Covid pandemic, will be started in Ghaziabad, an official from health department said.

Under this initiative, the health department will vaccinate children up to 2 years and pregnant women who had been left out for tetanus, Hepatitis B, whooping cough, polio among other diseases.

“Teams have been formed for conducting a survey between January 24 to 26. The healthcare workers will be visiting households identifying children up to the age of 2 year and pregnant women. After completion of the survey, Mission Indradhanush 4.0 will be initiated from March 7 in three phases, beginning on the first Monday of every month. After March 7, the second phase will begin from April 4 and the third phase on May 2. However due to assembly elections counting, the vaccination campaign will not be organised on March 10,” the official added.

Meanwhile, a survey on this has begun from Thursday which will be completed by February 26 after which, Asha and Anganwadi workers will visit the households to identify children and women left out for routine immunisation.

Last year, over 8,600 children and more than 1,500 pregnant were identified and vaccinated under the special drive.
