Rajasthan govt’s Jan Aadhaar must for getting free treatment
The state government’s Jan Aadhaar, not the Centre’s Aadhaar, has been made mandatory for availing benefits under the Mukhya Mantri Nishulk Nirogi Rajasthan Yojna.
Health department authorities will also use Jan Aadhaar to find out the cost of treatment a patient has already received. If the annual cost of treatment a patient receives under MMNNRY exceeds Rs 10 lakh in a financial year, a proposal will be sent to the state government for approval, said officials.
Patients wishing to avail free facilities, including free OPD and IPD facilities, at government hospitals under MMNNRS, which started from May 1 across the state must carry with them their Jan Aadhaar card. Till now, hospitals in the state were demanding Aadhaar cards for registration of patients.
“Through the Jan Aadhaar card, the state government will keep records of diseases, treatment and diagnostic test of each patient taking benefit of the government’s free health scheme. It will help in tracking each patient availing the benefit from different schemes including Chiranjeevi Health Insurance Scheme and the free medicine and free diagnostic schemes,” said state health secretary Dr Prithvi Raj.
The initiative will help health department authorities to keep a record of the diseases, treatment and diagnostic tests for analysis of the disease patterns. It will also help in the framing of health policies, said Dr Raj.
For people who do not have Jan Aadhaar card, the health department has made certain arrangements. Such patients will get relaxation from medical superintendents and principal medical officers on the condition that they register for getting Jan Aadhaar card at the hospital itself. The hospital will collect the documents of the patient and send them to the district collector’s office for the necessary steps to issue them Jan Aadhaar cards.
The record of free medicines and free diagnostic tests will be kept based on Jan Aadhaar card’s identification number. The hospital will make use of e-Aushadhi and Integrated Health Management System for keeping beneficiaries’ records.
